Electrical Connections

The Electrical Connections

To avoid poor contacts, rust, sparks, power leakage and all sorts of problems,
HorseGuard recommends the use of this type of connections only.

Charger
(also called Electric box or Energiser) can be
  • - a 110 Volts plug in
  • - a battery operated (12 Volts)
  • - a solar operated (small fence)
1 to 5 Joules output
(count 1 Joule per 1000 ft of fence)

It must be connected to a long ground rod and to a high-tension cable (double insulated up to 12000 Volts)

Never...set the connection directly onto the tape !
The high tension cable #28M brings the power to the fence using a connector #59G !

High tension cable #28 M (Tested up to 20 000 Volts )

Connector #59G

5ft #28M + 1#59g =#59L

The connector #59G is crimped onto the tensioner buckle that distributes the charge to the tape. It ensures a really good contact between the 10 stainless steel wires of the tape.

Inter Connector #59H

It transfers the power from one strand to the next.

Connectors included at each end of the #59H attach to the buckles of #36W.
All these elements made out of stainless steel allow an electrical connection anywhere on the tape ...
Tensioner #36W Gate handle #11 Splicer buckle #24 Switch #52
The buckle reconnects all the wires together. It maintains the continuity of the electric flow on the other side of the gate. It joins 2 ends of tape together, and allows electrical connection anywhere on the tape. Easy to turns the fence On and Off .
By law or by courtesy,
the WARNING SIGN #42 must be set on posts every 300ft.
