The New Line Post Insulator, available in WHITE, BROWN, and GREEN to match the HorseGuard tape. Always looking for improvement, we have modifi ed our insulator. The new #8 is easy and fast to install. Just turn the 2 pegs and the tape will be secured into place, firmly squeezed between the rounded edges but it wont end up being cut after a few months... This design was inspired by the tuning peg that tightens the strings on a violin.

The #8 tightens the tape without damaging it.
The #8 insulator adapts itself to a variety of fence post type ...

Attach it onto a wood post with
1 screw at each end.


Attach it on a Tpost with wire, or straps, straps also for a pipe post.


Thanks to the precut holes at each end, the #8 slides onto 1/2 inch round fiberglass stakes.

For the nostalgic ones. we have kept the classic #8N.

The insulator is not « ONLY » an insulator

The primary purpose of the insulator is to keep HorseGuard tape from touching the posts.

  • - This is particulary important if your iron or wood posts are wet.
  • - Many insulator designs are intended for use with electric wire, not electric tape.
  • - Some insulators designs can pinch the tape and and cut it over time.
  • - Some insulators on the market are not UV protected and can easily crack.
  • - Some insulators can stay damp and create a current leak that could reduce the power of your fence by as much as one-third.
